High Court vacated the obstruction of Panchmasali reservation, interim order: Big relief for the government
The Karnataka High Court has cleared the status quo order regarding reservation of 2C and 2D for the Panchmasali community, thus the state government has got a big relief during the elections.
A PIL was filed by DG Raghavendra asking that 2A reservation should not be given to the Lingayat Panchamasali community and that the state government should not encourage the individual demands submitted by any sub-caste, community tribes seeking modification of reservation category.
The Chief Justice of the High Court, which had heard the petition, granted an interim stay. When questioned in this regard today, the Solicitor General of the Union Government assured that there will be no conversion in 2A reservation. The interim order has been lifted following the assurance of the central government.
